Van der Bold was created around a family table, built on a simple idea shared over everyday conversations: that how you start your day matters. What began as a family vision has grown into a pursuit of something better coffee that is strong, honest, and made for real life.
That same mindset guides how we source. It starts in the high-altitude farms where coffee cherries ripen slowly under sun and cloud, absorbing the character of the land, the soil, and the hands that tend them. We seek out producers who treat coffee not as a commodity, but as a craft farmers who prioritise quality over volume, and who understand that exceptional coffee is grown, not made. Each lot is selected with intention. We work with trusted import partners and producing communities who focus on transparency, sustainable farming, and careful post-harvest processing. Whether it’s a naturally processed Ethiopian lot bursting with fruit complexity or a washed Central American coffee with clean structure and balance, every selection must earn its place in our lineup. From harvest to drying beds to export, we follow the journey closely—because traceability isn’t a luxury, it’s a standard. We look for coffees that are expressive, consistent, and honest in their profile, with no need for heavy manipulation. Just careful roasting to bring out what is already there.
